2020 - Cercati, fotografati, compianti.....il vento dell'oblio.....  

Searched for, photographed, mourned ..... the wind of oblivion .....

Nei decenni trascorsi, ho avuto modo di documentarmi circa la situazione concernente i profughi provenienti, particolarmente, dai territori compresi tra Siria e Turchia.   Ho consultato i quotidiani, ho visto i documentari proposti nelle televisioni e ho scientemente voluto documentarmi, andando a cercare le foto postate in Internet.  Ciò che ho letto e visto mi ha profondamente commossa, pertanto la mia interiorità mi ha spinto a produrre una serie di opere  dedicate proprio al tema inerente la sofferenza dei bambini e delle loro madri.   Da questo contesto, tra le centinaia di foto che ho esaminato, ho scelto alcune immagini, le quali mi hanno consentito di analizzare, in modo attento e partecipato, gli sguardi di quei bambini. 

Prima di produrre opere ad olio, ho sentito la necessità di compiere degli studi preparatori. Mentre producevo questi schizzi, anzitutto, ho compreso che gli sguardi dei bambini, oltre a manifestare il loro profondo disagio causato dall’orrore di quanto essi hanno vissuto, proponevano anche degli intensissimi quesiti, che ho cercato di sintetizzare nei titoli posti accanto alle opere; quindi, ho inteso che queste bimbe e bimbi sono stati cercati, fotografati, compianti.....il vento dell'oblio.....

In the past decades, I have had the opportunity to read up on the situation concerning refugees coming, in particular, from the territories between Syria and Turkey. I have consulted the newspapers, I have seen the documentaries proposed on television and I have knowingly wanted to read up on it, going to look for the photos posted on the Internet. What I have read and seen has deeply moved me, therefore my interiority has prompted me to produce a series of works dedicated to the theme inherent to the suffering of children and their mothers. From this context, among the hundreds of photos that I have examined, I have chosen some images, which I have participated to analyze, in a careful way and those children.
Before producing oil works, I felt the need to carry out some preparatory studies. While I was producing these sketches, first of all, I realized that the looks of the children, in addition to manifesting their profound discomfort as they lived, posed very intense questions, which I tried to summarize in the titles placed next to the works; therefore, I understood that these girls and boys were sought, photographed, mourned ..... the wind of oblivion .....

                                           Bimbo mio sogna, ti proteggo io.                    Mi hai tolto i sogni.                                  Non sono qui.

                                                Mi stai spingendo nel buio?         Mi ritieni diverso perché sono nero?                  Sono io che dono a te.  

                    Non toccare mio fratello.          Non devi vedere l’orrore che guardo io.
